The project which is targeting three sub-locations of Maseno Division in Kisumu West Sub-county commenced in March 2014 and is expected to end by August 2015.
The project seeks to contribute in addressing the challenges crippling the water sector, particularly in reference to infrastructure investment and sustainable access in the distribution and management of water as a resource to address the socio-economic elements that influence local people’s livelihoods, specifically in Kisumu West sub-county. The project activities aspire to increase the proportion of marginalized population with access to safe drinking water, Sanitation and positive hygiene practices in the targeted areas within Kisumu West sub-county.
Key Project activities include::
- Construction and development of two boreholes and one shallow well.
- Capacity development of selected community structures drawn from the three water points
- Support to Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) efforts in at least 8 villages drawn from the project target area.
